Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password. When you use the Service we collect data about your learning activity — quiz answers, XP earned, streaks, and progress through courses — so we can personalize your experience.

If you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We never store your full card number; Stripe provides us with a token and the last 4 digits.

2. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (such as dark mode). We also use anonymous analytics cookies to understand how people navigate the site — these help us improve the product.

You can decline optional cookies via the banner at the bottom of the page. Essential cookies (authentication) are required for the Service to function.

3. How we use your data

  • To operate and personalize the Service
  • To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets)
  • To improve the Service through aggregate, anonymized analytics
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Data retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Supabase — database and authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Vercel — hosting and edge network

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their handling of your data.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@birdsbirdsbirds.net. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the site.
